Adaptive scheduling – a new paradigm for supporting the education
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are under constant competitive pressure while at the same time they have increasing numbers of students and lower budgets, resulting in the increased importance of achieving both efficiency and effectiveness in those organizations.
This intensifies the importance of having a suitable timetabling software application, which can be considered to be at the heart of the organization, as it supports organizing the primary process. The timetable software regulates the scheduling of teachers, students and staff, and thus significantly impacts on their effectiveness and efficiency.
Research has shown that the current dominant way of support in education organizations is falling short in many aspects, thereby impeding innovation and the effective and efficient implementation of emerging educational paradigms. A new way of scheduling might just help to find the path to better align support and education.
