From 2-4 April 2008, Scientia's 9th User Conference took place at Homerton College in Cambridge. With more than 185 attendees, from 7 countries, it was the largest User Conference to date.

For more than a third of the delegates, it was the first time they attended and we welcome them to the Scientia family. 15 presentations were given by Scientia users around the theme Managing the Academic Year and the conference was ranked by the attendees as being the best ever due to the large user participation and the presentations given.

The theme of the conference, Managing the Academic Year, looked at the key processes that take place during the complete cycle of the academic year. From the initial gathering of requirements through to publishing of timetables and reports, each of the plenary sessions focused on how Enterprise applications can be used to support the process. The breakout sessions that followed gave delegates the opportunity to find out what has been accomplished by other institutions as well as what they are planning for the future.

The User Conference was also the first time users had a chance to see the new Enterprise Foundation in action. The general feedback was very positive and the users agreed this version of the software offered a lot of new functionality that would help them in their day-to-day operations.
