Training & Consultancy Consultant

Overview
The Consultant is responsible for providing training and consultancy services to Scientia’s existing Syllabus Plus clients within Europe. This work will involve new implementations, existing customers and may also include projects for non-Syllabus users in the FE/HE sector. The work will involve travel within the UK and Ireland with the possibility of further travel to mainland Europe or other countries as requested.

A competitive remuneration package including pension scheme will be offered to according to the successful candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities
• Planning and managing implementations for new customers
• Identifying training and consultancy needs for new and existing customers
• Delivering user training
• Undertaking projects for clients – e.g. space analysis; ‘What-if’ modelling
• System integrations at client institutions
• Promoting Syllabus Plus products to existing clients
• Supporting clients during the implementation phase

Personal Attributes
• Strong communication skills
• Experience at dealing with clients at all levels within Institutions
• Self-motivated – most of the job will not be office based
• Well organised
• Able to travel on a regular basis sometimes at short notice
• Ability to work under pressure

Technical Attributes
• Experience of sophisticated PC-based applications
• Further and Higher Education experience an advantage
• Some knowledge of client-server applications
• Hands-on experience of MS Excel and/or MS Access
• Some knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. SQLServer, Oracle) an advantage

Experience
• Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
• Working knowledge of timetabling systems in an academic environment an advantage; ideally of Syllabus Plus products
• Has worked in direct client facing roles
• Project Management experience an advantage
