Clocks - short for Classroom Occupancy System - is the groundbreaking 'campus intelligence' solution developed by our partners, Lone Rooftop.  It utilises Lone Rooftop's Position Intelligence Engine (PIE) to calculate the position of people inside a building, primarily using existing WiFi networks.  It tracks room occupancy in real-time and delivers essential usage metrics through an easy-to-use, graphical Dashboard.

Anonymous, secure, and built on your existing infrastructure

Based on location data that is anonymously sourced from existing WiFi networks, Lone Rooftop's PIE technology is able to calculate the specific location of people in all parts of buildings.  Their devices can, but don’t have to be connected to the university network.  By measuring the differences in signal strength, PIE can accurately determine the position of these devices.  PIE’s smart algorithms translate the number of devices into the number people and their respective positions, so one person with multiple devices is only counted as one person.

PIE works with all types of sensors including beacons, workspace sensors, motion detectors and access control systems.  It is compatible with Cisco and HP Aruba networks, and Lone Rooftop has acquired the enviable status of Preferred Solution Partner for those networks.  Additionally, Lone Rooftop has established partnerships with IT Infrastructure specialists such as BT and Axians, who are actively supporting the implementation of PIE.
