Copenhagen School of Design and Technology streamlines its operations using timetabling solutions from Scientia

October 2015 - The Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA) in Denmark has selected Scientia’s Enterprise Foundation timetabling solution and associated products to improve student satisfaction, streamline its operations and save money.

KEA offers over 30 career-oriented programmes and further education opportunities at Bachelor degree and Academy Professional degree levels. Its 4,500 students work across four core faculties - media/IT, design/business, building/production and leadership/management.

Established in 2008 – the result of a merger between several different schools, each with different timetabling and room booking systems - the college wanted to address the challenge of bringing together each of those decentralised and different processes and systems into one. By taking Scientia on board, senior managers at the college will, for the first time, have an accurate overview of the organisation, using one timetable and one data base.

‘We would like to improve student satisfaction by providing better timetables in a timely manner and optimise the use of our locations,’ said Tim Møller Jørgensen, Project Leader at KEA. ’KEA is growing extensively so we need better management information about how the buildings should be best used in order to serve the programmes they offer.’

As well as benefitting from the time and cost efficiencies offered by the powerful and easy to use Enterprise Foundation timetabling solution and the resource booking capability, the college will also improve student and staff satisfaction by providing everyone with up to date timetables at any PC and mobile device via Scientia Publish!

The Scientia Connect Platform provides the required integration – offering the College the capability to transfer data between the Scientia solutions and third party databases.
